After your service has taken place, you can organise to attend the committal service (must be booked in prior with us) or you can conclude the service entirely at the church, and we will organise your loved one’s private cremation.

Types of Cremation Services

Every family is different, and there's no single right way to say goodbye. We offer several cremation options so you can choose what feels right.

With a Full Funeral Service

A chapel or church service before the cremation. Family and friends gather to share memories and say goodbye. The most traditional option.

With a Memorial Service

The cremation happens first, the memorial gathering follows. More time to plan, more flexibility on venue and date.

Direct Cremation

The simplest and most affordable option. No ceremony, just the cremation, with ashes returned to the family. There's nothing wrong with keeping things simple.

Cremation FAQs

How long does cremation take?

The cremation itself takes about two to three hours. But from the time of passing to getting the ashes back, it's usually five to ten business days, allowing for paperwork, medical certificates, and crematorium scheduling. If you need something faster for religious or cultural reasons, let us know and we'll do what we can.

Can we have a viewing before cremation?

Yes. A lot of families choose to see their loved one before the cremation, and we'd encourage it if it feels right for you. We have our own mortuary in Penrith where viewings can be arranged by appointment. Family members are welcome to help with dressing if they'd like to.

What happens to the ashes?

After the cremation, the ashes are returned to your family in an urn or temporary container. From there, it's up to you. Some families keep them at home. Some scatter them at a place that mattered to their loved one. Others choose interment at a memorial garden or cemetery. We can provide urns and cremation jewellery, and talk through scattering or interment options.

Can we hold a service at the crematorium?

Yes. Most crematoriums have their own chapels where a funeral service can be held before the cremation - it's one of the most common choices. We handle all the bookings with the crematorium and can help you plan the service: celebrant, music, slideshow, order of service booklets, all of it.

How much does a cremation cost?

It depends on the type of service. A direct cremation with no ceremony is the most affordable. A cremation with a chapel or church service costs more, depending on the venue and what's included. See our prices and packages page for current pricing, or call us on 02 4721 2020 for a quote over the phone.
